2010 is finally here! Now is the perfect time to kick those bad habits. For some of us, it may actually be bad habits for others it may just be a need to be more active or simply more pleasant to be around.

Many New Years resolutions involve trying to gain or loss something. The list typically includes increased longevity, more money, or to simply reduce debt and vices. After all we should not be expected to give up nicotine, caffeine or alcohol completely.
I was surprised to learn that 65% of us will succeed in keeping our resolutions, however only 48% of us even took the time to make one. According to Wikipedia, men succeed 22% more often when they set goals and women enjoy a 10% increased success rate with resolutions.
The ancient Babylonians celebrated the New Years for up to eleven days, so there is still time to make your resolutions and stick to it. After all, their biggest resolve was often to return borrowed farm equipment, which was necessary for their way of life. Shedding a few pounds or smoking less would simply be small tasks for those who started this tradition.
I was pleased to report that most of our readers resolved to simply spend more time at Edisto. This is a resolution that can be easily achieved and I can surely can live with.
